The wild-caught reputation and why captive-bred changes everything
Blood pythons were heavily exported from the wild through the 1980s and 1990s, and those animals were typically defensive, fast-striking, and difficult to work with. This gave the species a reputation for aggression that does not apply to captive-bred specimens raised with regular handling. Health issues specific to blood pythons
